Environmental Innovation Practicum
This interdisciplinary course is designed for undergraduate and graduate students who want to focus on developing innovative solutions to real-world environmental problems and creating new business opportunities. The theme for the course is Clean Tech, with an emphasis this year on Energy.

UW Environmental Innovation Challenge - April 1, 2010
The course links to the UW Environmental Innovation Challenge which takes place in April of each year. The class brings together diverse perspectives and approaches to environmental innovation, and introduces the process of innovation, technology commercialization, regulatory constraints and opportunities, the evolving legal context, and scientific and engineering topics relevant to Clean Tech.

Expert Speakers and Format
Speakers will include top experts from the disciplines of natural sciences, engineering, social sciences, business, policy, and law. There will be a deliverable that defines an energy related problem and potential solutions. Students will be encouraged to form teams for the UW Environmental Innovation Challenge which will be held April 1, 2010.
