EWB UW has a project centered around designing grain milling machines powered by bikes in order to be used by village people in the Gambia. This will reduce the work load on the girls in the villages allowing for more time in school. We are seeking help from the business realm in order to fine tune the implementation of the mill design; specifically supply chain obstacles and setting up a micro-loan system in order to facilitate the project. We are having two brainstorming sessions on design of the mill this week and then will be having a full group meeting the week after that which will most likely occur on thursday evening.

Please contact me if you or anyone you know is interested in helping. Email is best.

My name is Ken Doyle and I am the team leader for G3. The team currently consists of one Materials Science and Engineering masters student and two MSE seniors. The team is now adding team members to help make this idea win in the competition. We are looking to add a few business people and one or two technical writers. We also have a need for a Mechanical Engineer and possibly an Electrical Engineer to help work on a tracking system for the parabolic dish that is used in the system. The G3 team can be contacted by email at uw.mse.g3@gmail.com or call Ken 253.441.0788.
